What Does Swaner Do?

THE SWANER HARDWOOD COMPANY is a privately owned company founded in 1967.  For more than 35 years SWANER HARDWOOD has provided its customers with a superior product at a truly competitive price.  With newly directed focus on serviceability, lower lead times and quality, SWANER HARDWOOD looks forward to another 35 years of supplying quality hardwood lumber and plywood needs.

Today, SWANER HARDWOOD  is a multi-million dollar organization owning timberland in the Northwest and two subsidiary companies:  Mt. Baker Plywood and Goodyear Nelson Hardwood Lumber Company both located in Bellingham, Washington.  The headquarters, mill and distribution center is located in Burbank, California.  This ideally situated location on the Interstate 5 corridor assists in streamlining the transportation of products to marketplace.  SWANER HARDWOOD also benefits from a stable and loyal workforce of which a large percentage has been with the company for 10 years or longer.

SWANER HARDWOOD provides service to a wide variety of products from imported and domestic plywood to custom hardwood flooring and mouldings.  SWANER HARDWOOD services the home improvement industry, cabinet and furniture manufacturers, moulding and architectural millwork organizations, movie studios, state and federal institutions, and just about anyone who has a need for quality hardwood products.  Two of our high-profile customers are the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., both requiring fine-quality hardwoods and on-time delivery.  California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California, is another well-known customer, as are a number of entertainment and sports celebrities who reside in Southern California.

To ensure the needs of our customers are met, all orders are monitored and shipped out of our central warehouse in Burbank, California.  Lumber coming into our yard is examined on-site by one of our certified National Hardwood Lumber Association inspectors.  This process assures that we receive the correct grade of lumber sold to us, and that we, in turn, provide customers with a quality product.  Moreover, SWANER HARDWOOD currently owns and operates a fleet of 11 trucks and trailers, including four curtain vans.  These attributes ensures orders are complete, on time, and meet our vigorous quality standards.

SWANER HARDWOOD has been manufacturing high quality hardwood products for more than 35 years and has been a major supplier of S4S hardwoods since 1988.  More than 50 carloads of hardwood lumber are stored in the Burbank, California facility, backed by some of the finest hardwood lumber mills in the nation.
